Thinking about Green Cities 2012?

This year, we've increased the number of CPD points you can accrue by attending Green Cities. You can now achieve up to 21 CPD points by attending the full three days!

If you're a Green Star Associate, you can earn all the points you need to maintain your CPD status in just three days. GSAPs can accrue more than half their required CPD points just by attending Green Cities.

Monday 5 March - 5 CPD points
Tuesday 6 March - 5 CPD points
Wednesday 7 March (Education Day) - min 1 CPD point per hour (up to 11 CPD points!)

Property Council of Australia

Many of the professions within the property sector require their members to undertake a set number of hours of continuing professional development (CPD) each year. There are two broad categories of CPD requirements:

1. For the professions (accounting, law, company directors, engineers, valuers and so on) who need to complete structured (formal training) and unstructured (such as reading the magazine, acting in a committee, being a course presenter or mentoring programs) professional development.

The professions allow members to identify their own professional development needs and count one hour of training for one 'point' of CPD.

This means that all the Property Council conferences and Academy courses will be accepted as CPD.

2. For real estate agents. In NSW 12 points of CPD is mandatory each year; in most other States it is recommended.

The Department of Fair Trading in NSW has approved the Property Council courses and conferences as recognised training at the rate of two hours per point (hence one six hour Academy course will meet the year's requirements).

The Academy attendance certificates print the number of CPD hours so you need to file them in case you are audited. Likewise, keep a copy of conference or seminar enrolments in your professional file.
