Matt Williams is currently a consultant for Sustainable Design, part of Bovis Lend Lease's in house design group.  Matt has a background in mechanical engineering, and has been practicing as a Sustainability Consultant for the last 6 years.  Having worked with  Hyder Consulting, Steensen Varming and Cundall,  in both the UK and Australia.  
 
Matt has completed his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at Brunel University, UK,  focusing on building services.

Matt has worked  on   environmental design of retail centres  including  Macarthur Square Shopping Centre and Rouse Hill Town Centre , which included sun penetration and thermal modelling studies.   Matt has been involved with facilitating the Green Star ratings of  Myer headquarters Docklands, 420 George Street, Ergon Energy administrative buildings across regional QLD,  and Charlestown Square retail centre.  Most recently  Matt  has been the Sustainability Consultant for a residential development in Melbourne's Docklands, Convesso Concavo.   
 
Matt has  grounded  his  environmental design experience  through the application of  daylighting, CFD and energy modelling  over a  wide  range of projects .   More recently has furthered his involvement in the delivery and verification side of sustainable development . 

As well as being a  NABERS  Accredited Assessor, ABSA Accredited Assessor and Green Star Accredited Professional, Matt is also actively involved with the Green Building Council and was  a member of the technical working group that developed Green Star  Multi- Unit  Residential rating tool.

Green Cities 09 is Australia's premier conference for sustainability in the built environment. A joint initiative of the Green Building Council of Australia and the Property Council of Australia, the theme for Green Cities 09 is "Valuable, Affordable, Sustainable".

Green building innovators will gather in Brisbane from 1-3 March, 2009 to launch new products and technologies, and explore new ideas in sustainable building.
