Steve Jones, Director, FMA
Steve Jones is a member of the Executive of the Australian Sports Commission and Director responsible for strategic property planning and management of a range of capabilities including facilities management strategic planning; maintenance program development and delivery; capital works planning and delivery; and building operations. The responsibilities also include the planning and operation of commercial activities on the Australian Institute of Sport site in Canberra and the day to day venue management function of all of the facilities on the site.
He has had various career appointments including positions in operations, command, training and facilities with the Australian Army; public service positions in the Department of Administrative Services and the Department of Finance and Administration with responsibilities for overseas property, predominantly the facilities management functions; and with both Price WaterhouseCoopers and Multiplex Facilities Management, again working in the property/facilities management area.
Steve has a degree in civil engineering and is a Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia; is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors; is a Director on the Board of the Facility Management Association of Australia; and is a Certified Facilities Manager with the International Facility Managers Association.
